The Northern Outskirts Of Fay
Thanks to Rebecca Hurst for these images… she writes:
“My name is Rebecca Hurst and I took these two photos this morning around 10:40 a.m. Eastern on the beach at Hilton Head, SC near Mathews Drive. When my young daughter Jenny and I arrived, we could hear lifeguards blowing whistles. Beach goers were leaving because lifeguards wanted everyone out of the area as this band of heavy rain approached. These photos were taken a couple minutes before one of the first heavy bands of rain came on shore. The waves were high and so were the winds.
My 4 year old daughter and I made it back to our vehicle before the skies dumped buckets of heavy rainfall. We left Hilton Head a couple hours later and driving was a nightmare. Most roadways on Hilton Head and the next town Bluffton remain flooded with standing water. Our area is already saturated from the rainfall we’ve received in the past two weeks. It’s been a strange summer here. We’ve received a lot of rainfall and everything is green like Spring. Usually this time of year, it’s very hot & dry and people are paying a fortune to water his/her lawns to keep it green.
Thanks for all you do, I love your website!”
