Storms Taking a Turn Downward

| August 2, 2008 @ 6:15 pm | 1 Reply

The overall look to the radar is a general decrease in the intensity of storms. In Central Alabama, we are down to two main clusters.

One moving out of Walker County into Tuscaloosa and the southwest sections of Jefferson County. And a second just southeast of Gadsden stretching over to Piedmont. All storms were moving on a track toward the south at a speed of about 15 to 20 mph.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch 795 remains in effect until midnight. Warnings were in effect for Jefferson, Walker, Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Etowah, Calhoun and Cherokee counties with most set to expire around 6:30 pm.
