Let’s update the Alabama situation in just a few words. Please scroll down for earlier posts that are still valid, including the full text of the North Alabama Flash Flood Watch and rain amounts.

In a nutshell:

* A general increase in showers and thunderstorms over South Alabama. Most of the lightning is south of about the Livingston-Selma-Montgomery line.

* Showers and thunderstorms on the numerous side over the Extreme West Florida Panhandle from Pensacola northward.

* Very few showers withina 50-mile radius of Birmingham.

* Several heavy showers (and some thunder and lightning) over Extreme NW Alabama over North Lawrence, West Colbert and Extreme NW Franklin.

Everything across the state showing a general east to ESE movement. None of the showers or storms in a hurry.
