Just before 9:30 tonight, strong thunderstorms were over two corners of the state. Over Extreme NE Alabama, the strongest storms were over Marshall and Dekalb. NWS posted a Significant Weather Alert for Dekalb County until 10 pm.Those were moving toward the NW.

Strong storms over the SE corner of the state, mainly near Dothan, were moving SW toward NW Florida.

Elsewhere around the state there is relative quiet. A number of warnings were issued this afternoon and evening and there were reports of hail up to quarter size and strong winds.

A Flash Flood Warning was posted for Tuscaloosa County late in the afternoon. It was timely because 2.67 inches of rain fell in Downtown Tuscaloosa, mostly within one hour.
