| April 4, 2008 @ 4:31 pm | 3 Replies

A line of intense storms continues moving east through Central Alabama this afternoon.

It extends from Ashville to Columbiana to west of Clanton to Marion to west of Camden.

Lots of lightning, torrential rains and hail along the line. Damaging winds are a real possibility and isolated tornadoes could spin up quickly.

New severe thunderstorm warning for eastern St. Clair, Calhoun, NE Talladega and SE Etowah Counties. Goes until 5:15 p.m. This is for the big line…

Severe thunderstorm warning for east central Shelby…south central St. Clair…Talladega until 5:15…and for Chilton, rest of Shelby and the rest of St. Clair til 4:45 p.m. Like the polygons but when they cover the same county, they can get confusing…

Ahead of the line…storms have intensified and a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Coosa, Clay, Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties. Goes til 5 p.m. Autauga cancelled. There was a tornado warning for NE Tallapoosa…but it expired at 430.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Cleburne County expired. Storms about to enter Georgia…

Severe thunderstorm warning for Lowndes and Autauga and Montgomery Counties…strong storm west of Hayneville heading toward Lowndesboro and the city of Montgomery.

LATE REPORTS
…wind damage in Columbiana…tree damage in Shelby Community along highway 145…
…Jacksonville EM reports marble sized hail…
