A powerful line of storm is moving eastward across Alabama this afternoon.

Severe thunderstorm warnings continue for Jefferson, Bibb, NW Chilton, eastern Shelby and St. CLair Counties ahead of the line.

Damaging winds are possible along with large hail, deadly lightning and torrential rains.

Ahead of the line, dangerous storms are east of Piedmont…and west of Fruithurst…severe thunderstorm warning for Cleburne County til 430 p.m…SE Cherokee until 4:15.

Tornado warning eastern Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties…until 4:30 p.m. Dangerous storm just west of Alex City. More dangerous storms have developed outside the warning polygon west of Dadeville and SW of Rockford. Watch out for these.

Potentially tornadic storm in Shelby County is in the cone of silence of the BMX radar. Most dangerous part is NW of Columbiana moving toward Harpersville and Vincent…tornado warning til 430 p.m.

Tornado warning for Lowndes and eastern Dallas Counties for storm west of Lowndesboro.

Tornado watch being cancelled for Fayette…Greene…Lamar.. Pickens…Sumter.. Tuscaloosa… Walker… Tornado watch continues until 6 p.m, for areas ahead of the line and 9 p.m. for East Central Alabama.
