Dry Times Return

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below, and on iTunes…

Looks like we can now safely remove the chance of light rain or sprinkles for Monday morning, and our forecast will be a dry one through the middle part of next week.

Winds will turn around to the north tomorrow, and the high should be above five degrees cooler than today. The cooling will be more pronounced on Sunday and Monday, with highs dropping into the 56 to 61 degree range. We might see a few scattered clouds Sunday, but the air is simply too dry for any rain.

COLD MORNINGS: The 12Z NAM is printing 31 degrees for Birmingham Monday morning, so be aware a late season freeze is possible. Tuesday morning could be just above as cold, but a warming trend begins Tuesday afternoon as temperatures return to the low 70s.

NEXT RAIN: The GFS continues to give different looks on developments late next week and into the following weekend. The 12z run keeps Alabama dry now through Friday of next week (March 28), and then brings in a chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30, with a front easing into the state and becoming stationary somewhere near I-20. Not much confidence in any specific solution here until we get better model agreement.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

Brian Peters will have the video updates over the weekend… my next Weather Xtreme video will be posted Monday morning by 7:00. Enjoy the Easter weekend!
