Snow accumulating in spots!

The precipitation associated with the upper-level disturbance coming through Alabama has been impressive. Here is a radar loop from 656 pm through a few minutes ago.

There were some healthy precip areas in the Birmingham area between 8 and 10 pm. This precipitation is fairly shallow, so the radar is not picking it up very well at ranges beyond about 60 miles or so.

Cars, patio furniture, some trees, and grassy areas are getting some snow accumulation is spots. This was taken just a few minutes ago at my house in Trussville.

It looks like the heaviest precipitation is shifting into the eastern half of Alabama, and may be over in the BHM area by midnight.

However, a few spots, especially bridges and/or high elevations, may have a few slick spots in the morning.
