An upper-level disturbance will move through Alabama over the next six hours. That disturbance is producing a fairly large area of light precipitation, from northern Alabama into Tennesee and further north. The precipitation is moving southeast.

Surface observations show snow in Muscle Shoals and Nashville, with temperatures in the mid 30s. Huntsville has sleet with 38.

We will likely see light sleet and snow showers this evening in BHM, increasing somewhat in intensity after 9 pm. However, with temperatures above freezing and precipitation light, no significant accumulations are expected. Some of the higher mountains in NE Alabama could get 1/2″.
