Improving Weather Tomorrow

**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video due to the ongoing thunderstorms**

TONIGHT: The severe weather risk for Alabama is pretty much over. Low clouds and morning rain kept instability values low, and with the surface low and the upper support moving well north of the state tonight, storms should continue to weaken over the next few hours. Most all of the rain should be out of here by 9:00 p.m.

TOMORROW THROUGH FRIDAY: The sky becomes sunny tomorrow with a high in the mid 60s, and Thanksgiving Day still looks delightful with a sunny sky and a high in the upper 60s. We stay dry on “Black Friday” with a high between 67 and 70.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: The 12Z model runs continue to show the main chance of rain and storms on Sunday. Meaning, a decent Saturday with partly sunny, breezy conditions and a high not too far from 70. A very dynamic system will bring the chance of rain and storms Sunday, but the severe weather threat will add depend on the amount of surface based instability available. The latest model runs don’t show very much, and hopefully that will limit the severe weather threat.

IRON BOWL FORECAST: We are forecasting a partly sunny sky at Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday, with a kickoff temperature near 65 degrees. The southerly wind will gust to 20 mph at times, and there is no significant chance of rain.

SNOW FLAKES? A deep upper low sets up across the Deep South Monday, and could bring some risk of snow flurries or showers to Alabama Sunday night and Monday. See the 12 GFS output below valid Monday at midday…

If this is correct, we won’t get out of the 40s Monday. Must be November in Alabama.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.

Look for more updates this evening on the thunderstorm situation, but again, in terms of severe weather, you can pretty much stick a fork in this one. Look for the next Weather Xtreme video here by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow…
