Severe Weather Watch Coming Soon To Our West

| September 25, 2011 @ 3:33 pm | Reply

A severe weather watch will be issued soon for parts of Arkansas, western Tennessee and northwestern Mississippi. Thunderstorms are expected to begin developing in an increasingly unstable airmass over these areas. The early storms will have the potential to become severe with damaging winds, hail and even a couple of isolated tornadoes.

The activity will congeal into a squall line this evening that will push into Mississippi and eventually Northwest Alabama. There is a slight chance that severe storms will affect Northwest Alabama late tonight, from northern Lamar County through Marion and into the northwestern corner of the state.

The storms should weaken as they push into Central Alabama overnight. More storms will form on Monday and those could be strong to severe.
