Another Hot Day in the Northeast/Mid Atlantic

| July 23, 2011 @ 2:38 pm | Reply

The big high pressure ridge aloft has been vacationing along the East Coast this week, resulting in some dangerous heat. The heat wave actually peaked on Friday, with some incredibly hot temperatures in the megalopolis of the Northeast. It was not quite as hot today in places like the Big Apple, but the mercury still topped out at 99F in Central Park.

Note the 106F at Franklin VA (southern part of the state). The all time record high for the state of Virginia is only 110F.
