Moist Airmass, A Few Light Morning Showers

| July 23, 2011 @ 7:31 am | Reply

A little fog and low clouds are greeting the day across parts of Central Alabama this morning that to a moist airmass. A few showers were even developing across parts of Bibb, Chilton, Shelby and southern Jefferson Counties, moving to the northeast into St. Clair County. Temperatures were in the 70s after morning lows that were generally in the middle 70s. Pinson did reach 69F, however.

SCATTERED STORMS: An upper level disturbance just to our west and copious moisture over the state will trigger scattered showers and storms across Central Alabama today and Sunday. Most spots will have just under a one in two chance of getting wet either day, which should mean nearly everyone will get some rain at some point over the weekend. The best chances will be over western sections. Highs will be in the lower 90s, generally around 93F both days.
