Alabama at 3:30 am
Widespread precipitation across the state.
As of 3:30 am, no travel problems reported other than wet roads.
The precipitation continues to change over from rain to a mix of sleet and snow. Sleet has been reported as far north as Steele and Walnut Grove in NE Alabama.
For a time, the 33/40 Skywatcher at Coker, in Tuscaloosa County, reported heavy sleet and snow, however, no appreciable accumulation.
Temperatures continue to fall. 3 am reports:
36 Birmingham Airport and Muscle Shoals
35 Meridian
36 Tupelo
38 Tuscaloosa Airport
Most of the precipitation has ended over the NW one-third of Mississippi but there is still plenty occurring over Louisiana and South Mississippi spreading NE
NWS says no change in forecast structure at the moment.
Later report from Coker at 3:27 am:
More snow flakes again, still mixed with heavy sleet.
Still looks like the heavier amounts will occur south of the Birmingham area.
