Earlier posts already address the Alabama story. Here is a look at other cities mainly around the Southeast USA. These notes are from official NWS forecasts for each city:

ATLANTA
Slight chance of rain tonight mixed with snow after midnight. No accumulation. Low 32. Saturday, mix of rain/snow during the morning, all rain by afternoon. No accumulation, High 38. Mostly sunny Sunday/Monday. Low 18 Sunday and 17 Monday morning.

CHATTANOOGA
Slight chance of light snow after midnight. Saturday, light snow possibly mixed with rain by afternoon. Up to one inch of snow possible. High Saturday 38.

NASHVILLE
Only a slight chance of snow Saturday afternoon. No mention of accumulation. Clear Saturday night with low 13 to 17.

MEMPHIS
No precipitation through the weekend. High Saturday 32 with winds up to 25 mph in gusts. Low Saturday night 15-20.

GATLINBURG
Chance of rain after midnight. 80% chance of snow Saturday with 1 to 3 inch accumulation. Low 18 except for 5 above in the high country. Wind chill Saturday night as low as 5 below to 5 above, Sunny but cold Sunday and Monday. Remember, the snow amount is for the Gatlinburg area. It will be heavier in the mountains.

MONTGOMERY
Cold rain tonight. Low 38. Rain on Saturday but it could mix with some snowshowers in the afternoon. No accumulation.

GULF SHORES/ALABAMA COAST
Widespread rain tonight. Low 42. Rain ending by Saturday afternoon. Sunny on Sunday with high 52.

TALLAHASSEE
All rain through Saturday. Rain heavy at times.

SAVANNAH
All rain late tonight into Saturday night. Sunny on Sunday with a high of 50.

COLUMBUS/STARKVILLE
Light rain changing to light snow this evening and overnight. Low 32. Mix of light rain and light snow continuing Saturday morning. Coldest temperature will be early Sunday morning and early Monday morning. About 22. Sunny weather on Sunday.

JACKSON
Rain tonight with a chance of some snow mixed in after midnight. Saturday a 30% chance of light rain and snow during the morning. No accumulations.

NEW ORLEANS
Widespread rain tonight and Saturday morning. Sunny weather on Sunday. Cool with a high of 50.

GREEN BAY
Big NFL playoff game on Sunday. Their high temperature Saturday near zero with a wind chill of 25 below to 30 below. The low temperature early Sunday morning 10 below to 15 below. For Sunday, during the game, dry weather is expected but very cold with a high of only 5 above zero.

CHICAGO
Very cold through the weekend. On Sunday, the low should be 3 below zero with a high of 6 above.

USA EXTREMES
83 yesterday at Marathon, Florida
33 below zero this morning at Gunnison, Colorado
