Sort of a Weather By The Numbers (but not quite)

* Strongest thunderstorms in Alabama at 3:45 were over Dekalb, Marshall and NW Walker County

* 2 to 4 inches of rain estimated in Dekalb County (NE Alabama) in an hour this afternoon. Flash Flood Warning until 5:30

* 97 degrees in Muscle Shoals (NW Alabama) at 3pm with a heat index of 112. It was 96 in Birmingham, heat index 109 (Translation: That is too hot)

* I heard one local TV Meteorologist say at the end of his 10 o’clock segment last night, “Come on October!I (won’t mention his name but his last name has five letters)

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the heart of Atlanta earlier this afternoon

* Now 103 degrees in Laredo with winds gusting to 30 mph. If someone hanging their laundry on an outdoor clothesline, the first ones will be dry before they get to the end of the line!

* In search of cool air: 57 atop Mt. Washington, N.H., with visibility zero in fog (actually in the clouds) Winds gusting to 55 mph. It was 47 at Deadhorse, Alaska, always cool there

* Strong thunderstorms in Alabama at 3:40 pm over Marshall, Dekalb, and.NW Walker County. Not an all inclusive list. Others will be forming.
