Storms Enter Extreme North Alabama

| June 28, 2011 @ 7:14 am | 4 Replies

These storms have weakened a bit and as of 7:00 there are no severe thunderstorm warnings in effect, although the storms will produce lightning and gusty winds.

SPC maintains a slight risk of severe weather for much of Alabama today… it will be very interesting to see how this morning batch of storms impacts potential development later today. There is a chance the morning storms could stabilize the atmosphere and possibly prevent the afternoon storms we expect from getting out of hand. But, just a chance.

Another thunderstorm complex is rolling out of Arkansas, and SPC has just issued a severe thunderstorm watch for North Mississippi until 12:00 noon…
