Georgia Storms Should Push into East Alabama

| June 9, 2011 @ 4:04 pm | Reply

Showers and storms have had a hard time crossing into Alabama from Georgia this afternoon. They weaken before they make it very far into the state.

But storms Phenix City AL and Thomaton GA may have a better chance as they move generally west northwest toward Chambers and Lee Counties and eventually perhaps Tallapoosa County.

Nothing severe now…but heavy rain and lightning along with gusty winds can be expected. There is an outside chance they could become briefly severe.

It was 99F last hour at Alex City.
