All Quiet in Alabama
Most reporting stations across Central Alabama were near 90F again this afternoon, in spite of some persistent morning clouds.
All is quiet tonight across the state as temperatures fall slowly through the 80s. It is muggy, with dewpoints in the lower and middle 60s. Those dewpoints dropped during the afternoon as slightly drier air aloft mixed down with the heating of the day.
We will be in the upper 60s by morning.
Storms are over southern Arkansas, between Texarkana and Eldorado. They will lift northeastward, passing south of Little Rock. They will weaken as they approach the Memphis area overnight. They will stay well to our northwest. More storms will likely storm over western Tennessee in the morning, but they will move northeast toward Kentucky.
Tornado warnings are in effect in northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri to the northwest of Kansas City. One tornadic storm will pass several miles northwest of the Kansas City International Airport in about hour. Several funnel clouds and tornadoes have been reported with this activity. These storms are moving northeast and pose no threat to the Southeast U.S.
The SPC maintains a slight risk of severe weather through the overnight hours from southern Minnesota southward into Texas and eastward across Arkansas. The are just edges into western Tennessee near Memphis. Again, this activity will not impact Alabama or the Southeast.
Tomorrow will be a lot like today, except even a little hotter. Highs will likely make the lower 90s at most spots. There is a tiny chance of a shower or storm, but the chance is extremely small.
