Note About NOAA Weather Radio

Folks,

We’ve been getting a number of calls/concerns from NWR users whose weather radios are “complaining” on the digital readout to “check signal”. This is likely due the fact that a test was not done last week.

We realize that there are any number of folks out there that may be sensitive to possibly hearing a weather radio alarm, but we feel that it is time to run the test again…to ensure everyone is ready whenever the “next” event is approaching.

We have already issued a Public Information Statement earlier this afternoon to announce the resumption of testing, and wanted everyone to be prepared for the potential reactions from the public.
