SPC Puts Back Slight Risk for Northwest Alabama

| May 2, 2011 @ 3:22 pm | Reply

We aren’t expecting significant severe weather over Northwest Alabama, but the strong storms that we did forecast have developed over eastern Mississippi and have started edging into West Alabama.  The graphic shows the area included in the Slight Risk Day One Outlook issued a short time ago.

With decent instability, the SPC warns that they could produce isolated damaging wind gusts and marginal severe hail over areas north of a line from Vernon to north of Fayette to Carbon Hill.

Storms are over Pickens and Lamar Counties at this hour and will affect much of Fayette County in the next hour.
