There will be widespread power outages across Central Alabama from this large derecho that is occurring.

We went on emergency power here at our weather office in Trussville when the power failed for about a minute…but now we are back on commercial power.

Tornado warnings continue for Cullman County.

Severe thunderstorm warnings remain ahead of the line over Blount, western Etowah, St. Clair, extreme eastern Jefferson, eastern Shelby and Talladega Counties…Chilton County has been cleared.

Widespread high winds will occur along and ahead of the line through Etowah, Calhoun, Clay, Randolph, Cleburne and Cherokee COunties.
