Dangerous Situation Tomorrow

| April 26, 2011 @ 8:00 pm | 11 Replies

Not much change in our thinking for tomorrow…

See the SREF output below, valid at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. This is the chance of the significant tornado parameter (STP) exceeding 5 units; the model gives that a 90 percent chance in the general area from Gadsden to Mobile. Understand a STP over 2 is very significant, and 5 or higher is pretty rare.

The ongoing storms to the west will ease in here later tonight, and severe weather is very possible overnight. But, the most serious threat will come tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night, in the 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. time frame. Violent, long track tornadoes are very possible during this time frame.
