Flash Flood Watch Issued

The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Counties.

A stalled frontal boundary will focus shower and thunderstorm development through the afternoon and overnight and 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall. Heavy downpours could cause flooding.

NOTE FOR WEST ALABAMA

New severe thunderstorm warnings have just been issued for parts of East Central Mississippi. These storms will affect West Alabama including Lamar, Pickens and perhaps Marion counties between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.
