* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR…
WESTERN FAYETTE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
SOUTHERN LAMAR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
NORTHERN PICKENS COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…

* UNTIL 615 PM CDT

* AT 525 PM CDT…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PING PONG BALL SIZE
HAIL…AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE
LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM FAYETTE TO 5 MILES NORTH OF
ETHELSVILLE TO 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF COLUMBUS…AND MOVING NORTHEAST
AT 60 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE…
FAYETTE…KENNEDY…BELK…FOREST AND RICHARD ARTHUR FIELD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. TORNADOES CAN
DEVELOP QUICKLY FROM SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. ALTHOUGH NOT IMMEDIATELY
LIKELY…IF A TORNADO IS SPOTTED…ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF
SAFETY INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE…SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL
INTERIOR ROOM.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS…AND MAY
LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED
