If you missed the early morning blog discussion… here is the approximate arrival time for the main band of storms today. Understand there will be a few storms out ahead of the main line; in fact showers are in progress now over parts of Marion and Franklin Counties in Northwest Alabama.

NORTHWEST ALABAMA (Florence, Hamilton, Russellville, Haleyville, Fayette, Vernon etc): 3 p.m.
WEST-CENTRAL ALABAMA (Tuscaloosa, Reform, Eutaw) 5 p.m.
BIRMINGHAM/GADSDEN METRO (Jefferson, Shelby, Walker, St. Clair Etowah counties) 6 p.m.
ANNISTON METRO (Calhoun and surrounding counties) 7 p.m.

This is a guideline only… your actual time, of course, may vary.

Still looks like the main threat will be from damaging winds along the line, but a few isolated tornadoes could form this afternoon in discreet cells ahead of the line, mainly over Northwest Alabama. Stay tuned…
