One Warning…

| March 23, 2011 @ 10:02 pm | Reply

A lone severe thunderstorm warning at this hour…for DeKalb County in Northeast Alabama.

The strong storm is near Dutton. It will move east southeast toward Henagar, Sylvania and Valley Head.

There is a decent storm on the Limestone/Madison County line west northwest of Huntsville. It is not severe.

Closer to home…a heavy shower is trying to manage to achieve thunderstorm status over western Jefferson County. It is between Mulga and West Jefferson. It is not tall enough to generate lightning…yet. It shouldn’t be a problem severe weather wise…but it will affect parts of the Birmingham metro area.

Everything is weakening as we lose the heat of the day…despite a nice cold front pushing now through western Alabama.

The tornado watch for extreme North Alabama has expired.
