Showers continue to spread northeast and east across North and part of Central Alabama early this afternoon.

At 1:15 radar shows widespread showers from Tuscaloosa north and northeast. Some of those are not yet reaching the ground but it will not be long. The showers were heavier over South Lamar and Southwest Fayette County. There was also some lightning over North Pickens and South Lamar County. However, by far, most of the lightning was over East Mississippi.

It was raining at Tuscaloosa Airport on their 1 pm observation. It should be raining soon in the Birmingham area.

NWS continues a Flash Flood Watch for a large part of Alabama from midnight tonight through Wednesday evening. It will not take as much rain to set off some flooding because the ground in most areas is still soaked from the last rain event.

A NOTE OF CONCERN
NWS, New Orleans has issued a Tornado Warning for parts of several parishes in South Louisiana until 1:45 pm. No doubt people in those areas are still on edge from Sunday’s tragic storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has South Alabama under a slight risk for tomorrow–almost the south half of the state.
