Read article on UAH research on gravity waves and lightning in snowstorms here.

This article discusses more of the research our severe storms group at UAH is doing.  In this case, our graduate students (and Kevin Knupp, the boss) deployed to Illinois and other northern states last year looking for this data, and wound up getting it in north Alabama!

I mentioned on the blog recently that Huntsville airport had 4″ of snow in one hour due to a thunderstorm in the snow, and showed some graphics on what happened. Click here for that blog.
