Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Update – 225 am

The warm nose has come in aloft over BHM and ANB now…see post below.  We’ve been getting sleet, and now freezing rain, in Trussville since about 1245 am.  Some reports of power flickering and ice accumulation on lines, branches cracking, etc., but so far no widespread power outages that we know of.  The good news is that the heaviest precipitation is finally moving on into north Alabama, where it is colder and all snow.  Many locations in the TN Valley are approaching a foot of snow, with 2-7″ from BHM to Cullman and Gadsden.  Unless additional precipitation forms on the south edge (like it did an hour ago), hopefully we’ll get this freezing rain out of here before we get any big time power outages.

Some freezing rain still to go for places like Alex City, Auburn, and parts of Montgomery.  That’s probably the most likely place for power outages.
