Mix of freezing rain and sleet reported in downtown Tuscaloosa at 1:20.

Heavy sleet in Coker…ground whitening.

Sleet reported in Tallassee in Elmore County.

Sleet accumulating in Marion in Perry County. Beginning to change over to freezing rain.

Sleet reported in Thorsby.

The NWS reports that the noon balloon soundings made it into the 18z NAM run…this will make this model run more accurate.

OVER IN MISSISSIPPI
The NWS Jackson reports that rain and sleet will be ramping up in the next few hours in western Mississippi, spreading up the Natchez Trace. Temperatures north of a line from Vicksburg to Jackson to Meridian are below freezing and freezing rain and sleet will be the predominant precipitation type.

TEXAS
Winter storm warnings are in effect now for areas north and east of Dallas…including Plano, Paris, Sherman, Greenville, Gainesville and Sulphur Springs. 1-3 inches of snow has fallen in these areas this morning with another 2-3 inches expected this afternoon.
