A midday update from Chuck Prevatte

“James and folks,

The NWS let the Blizzard Warning expire at 1200 EST. My yard stick says 16 inches so far. These pictures are from us shoveling the snow out of our driveway and from around our neighborhood. Wind chills were in the upper teens at the time. Took about 4 hours to finish it all and we are out of places to pile and more snow. At 1300 EST still snowing Wind Speed: NW 23 G 35 MPH Barometer: 28.97″ (982.4 mb) Wind Chill: 9 °F (-13 °C) Visibility: 0.75 mi. Lots of blowing snow now also. the good news is it is a dry snow so it is lite and easy to move. People closer to the coast got a heave wet snow. For reference my wife Wendy in the red coat is about 5’4″ and my 9 year old in the bright green coat is 4’9″ and I am 6 foot for some perspective on the snow pile.”
