WeatherBrains 257: Last of the Past
WeatherBrains Episode 257 is now online (December 27, 2010). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!
This week’s Guest Panelist, Tyler Allison, has had a long and varied career. At one time or another Tyler has been a storm chaser, network engineer, security manager for the largest research super computing facility in the world, computer security consultant, computer forensic investigator, firearms instructor, software developer, ham radio operator, gardener, beekeeper, Jeep owner, backpacker, home remodeler, tinkerer, husband and father. Tyler is driven by new challenges, learning something new and doing things that folks believe either cannot be done or are too hard to do. He lives in Wheaton, IL, with his wife and two children. His day job is to be the President and CEO of Allison House, a weather data provider.
Coming to us as our Guest WeatherBrain for the last episode of 2010 is Greg Carbin, Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction, Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, Oklahoma. He has been a forecaster at the SPC since 1996. His love of weather began when he was a child in New England experiencing the excitement of snowstorms. When he received his degree in meteorology from Lyndon State College, he knew he wanted to be involved in operational meteorology and forecasting. He came to the Storm Prediction Center in Norman after working for Fleet Weather and for the National Weather Service (NWS) in North Carolina.
