Snow showers continue

Very light snow showers will continue over much of north and central Alabama early this morning, due to very unstable, moist air near the surface.  Additional accumulations will be very light, but it may keep some of the ice from melting/sublimating away on roads by morning, so travel is not advised, especially NE of a line from TCL to Clanton to Eufaula, at least through 6 or 7 am, when local area emergencies are in effect for much of central and NE Alabama.

Check road conditions on TV thoroughly this morning before heading out even after sunrise, as light snow showers may continue and temperatures will likely stay below freezing most or all day today, making travel dangerous in some places.
