Christmas Snow Update

| December 22, 2010 @ 9:04 pm | 51 Replies

Just a quick peek at the new 00Z RPM valid at 6:00 p.m. CST Saturday…

Confidence is rather high we will see some snow on Christmas Day, but it remains to be seen if there will be much accumulation. A quick peek at 00Z guidance from a variety of sources suggests it most likely will be raining when you wake up early Christmas morning, with a change over to light snow during the day. I still think the “dusting to 1/2 inch” forecast is best for now, with potential for a little more, perhaps somewhere over East or Northeast Alabama.

I will have a long discussion and fresh Weather Xtreme video posted here by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow with a first look at our projected snow accumulation with this storm system, if there is reasonable confidence. Stay tuned…
