Storms Moving Across Metro

| November 16, 2010 @ 8:00 am | 2 Replies

A line of thunderstorms is moving across the Birmingham Metro area at this hour.

It extends from just west of Hayden to near Warrior, Kimberly and Morris, then to the west of Gardendale to west of Fairfield.

It will move across the City of Birmingham during the next 30 minutes.

Strong gusty winds and brief torrential rains will accompany these storms as they move east at around 35 mph.

The NWS Birmingham has a significant weather alert up for the storms. Interesting side note…they have started adding polygon coordinates to the significant weather alerts.

RAINFALL NOTE
Ronald Hughes in Coker reports a storm rainfall total of 1.98 inches.
