Cullman County Warning Expires

| November 16, 2010 @ 7:42 am | Reply

The NWS issued the severe thunderstorm warning for Cullman County based on a bow echo on radar, just ahead of a deepening surface low moving through Northwest Alabama. There is no surface based instability, so the storm is elevated, but the NWS felt the warning was needed due to the bow, and some rotational signature on radar.

No warnings in effect now, and we don’t expect any widespread severe weather issues over North Alabama this morning.

The greatest risk of severe weather remains later today along and south of a line from Roanoke to Montgomery to Monroeville. Scroll down for the morning discussion, and see the Weather Xtreme video in the player to the right.
