. . .and the farmer
. . .and the Forest Service
. . .and many others

…and that is a widespread soaking rain. That is what much of Alabama is getting at midday on this Monday. Long time since we have had a steady rain over such a large area.

NOON RADAR CHECK
Raining over most of the state except the extreme SE around Dothan. This includes some heavy rain in some areas. At noon, there was a streak of moderate to heavy rain from near Huntsville southward to west of Montgomery to SW of Mobile. The heaviest rain of all was over the extreme SW including Mobile and North Baldwin County.

Everything moving toward the NE. There is a part of SW Alabama from Demopolis to about Livingston that is not getting much rain at the moment.

SEVERE WEATHER
The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has now posted a “slight risk” for areas near the coast including extreme South Alabama. It includes such areas as:

New Orleans
Biloxi-Gulfport
Mobile
Dothan
Pensacola
Fort Walton

TWO RAIN AMOUNTS
0.64 Bessemer (from Sky Watcher Jeff Drake as of 10:20 am)
0.58 NE Trussville (where I am soaking too much coffee)

More updates throughout today and tonight. If you like a cool wet day like I do, this is it!
