*Newfound Gap, low this morning 18 with a three-inch snow cover

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA HIGH COUNTRY
* Mt. Mitchell, high Saturday 23, low today 12, a three-inch snow cover
* Beech Mountain, low this morning 17 with five inches of snow.
