Severe Clear

Severe clear is J.B.’s term for completely blue skies that stretch a long way with no real prospects for cloud development.

The nearest precipitation to Alabama at this hour is a few light showers over Central Pennsylvania.

Temperatures across Central Alabama were just reaching the 70s and still will make it into the middle 70s.

Great weather for the Magic City Classic and events at Talladega.

If your kids are trick or treating tonight, conditions will be perfect, with readings dropping through the 60s and into the 50s by 9 p.m. Skies will clear and winds light.

Overnight lows will drop in the lower 40s on average.

Tomorrow should look a lot like today with near total sunshine and highs in the middle 70s again.

A chance of showers will return on Tuesday as a trough drops into the Arklatex and forms a closed low. It should stay far enough west to keep the heavier rain to our west.

Hurricane Tomas should turn northward later this week, affecting some area from eastern Cuba to Hispaniola. It could become a category three hurricane before it does. It is no threat to the Gulf of Mexico or continental United States at this time.
