* A unusually intense low pressure was centered late this afternoon near International Falls in Extreme North Minnesoto.

* So intense that the central pressure at 4 pm was down to 954 Millibars

* Very high winds over many northern states and colder air is entering the circulation. The latest observation from Benson, Minn., indicated a mix of rain and snow with gusts to 51 mph.

* Very warm and very humid across Alabama today. This afternoon the heat index at Tuscaloosa Airport reached 91
