At 5:52 pm the EMA reported wind gusts estimated to 50 mph at Vernon in Lamar County. This is very near the Mississippi border.

LAMAR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…
NORTHERN PICKENS COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…

* UNTIL 645 PM CDT

* AT 552 PM CDT…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM
CREWS TO MILLPORT…AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.
