An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

DRY THROUGH NEXT WEEK: A pretty easy forecast continues for us here in the weather office… sunny pleasant days, and clear cool nights through the end of next week. Just a matter of figuring out the highs and lows.

We will see a high in the upper 70s tomorrow, but Sunday becomes breezy and cooler and the upper trough over the eastern U.S. sharpens up… the high will be close to 70 with a gusty north wind of 10-18 mph. Then, we drop into the mid 40s by daybreak Monday, with potential for upper 30s across the cooler valleys of North Alabama for the first time this season. Tuesday morning should be just as cool.

NEXT RAIN? No chance of wet weather for the next 7 days… watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see the 12Z GFS shows a big rain event at mid-month on October 16-17, but we all know that is voodoo. This is the driest month of the year, and we have to respect climatology. Keep in mind you should be very careful with outdoor burning in coming weeks, and the Alabama Forestry Commission keeps a fire alert in place for all 67 Alabama counties.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Weather for high school games tonight does not get much better than this. Kick off temperatures will range from 68 to 75 degrees with a clear sky and (for once) no rain. A cool north breeze around 5 to 10 miles per hour will make the lower and middle 60s feel a little cool by the fourth quarter. Stadiums in northern Alabama could be in the upper 50s by game’s end.

Saturday in Auburn will be very nice! The Warhawks from Louisiana-Monroe visit Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium for an 11 AM kick off. At kick off, the temperature will be around 75º with full sunshine; it stays sunny, breezy, and warm through the 4th quarter as temperatures rise to near 80 degrees.

Tuscaloosa will be a little cooler on Saturday night when Alabama hosts Florida at 7 PM. A brisk north wind around 10 to 15 miles per hour will drive temperatures down from the upper 60s toward the upper 50s between the kick off and the 4th quarter. It will be dry and cool through the evening.

TROPICS: NHC is monitoring two tropical waves… one in the Caribbean, and one east of the Leeward Islands. Both of them look disorganized this afternoon and tropical storm formation is not expected through tomorrow.
