Scattered storms

| July 20, 2010 @ 1:39 pm | 1 Reply

Scattered storms have developed over parts of central and eastern Alabama this afternoon. The air is still humid, and the strongest surface heating this morning has been centered on Anniston.

The storms are not hitting everywhere, but where they are, the rain can be heavy for a little while. One storm developed near Huffman and moved into Trussville and produced very heavy rain for a few minutes. Other storms producing heavy rain are from Asheville to Rainbow City, and from Talladega to Heflin.

We need the rain, but be careful if you drive into one of these (slow down, leave extra distance between you and the car in front of you).
