Scattered Storms
Showers and storms continue in a west to east line across the middle of Alabama this afternoon. They generally extend from Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties…through Bibb/Shelby/Jefferson into Clay, Randolph and Chambers Counties.
Still nothing especially strong and the storms are a little less widespread than I would have thought.
In the Birmingham area, a decent little thundershower is over western sections of Birmingham, near Five Points West. It is moving east southeast and will affect Homewood, Vestavia and Mountain Brook, eventually Cahaba Heights and the Summit.
There is a good bit of lightning in the cells east northeast of Sylacauga. They are also pushing southeast. Another decent little storm is approaching Wadley.
In South Central Alabama, a cluster of storms is approaching Union Springs, south of Tuskegee.
