A look around the state at this hour…
…Strong storm over northeastern Pickens and extreme northwestern Tuscaloosa Counties at this hour. Significant weather alert for heavy rain, gusty winds and small hail as well as lightning.
You have to cross over to the eastern side of the state to find more active weather.
A large area of rain and storms is along the Alabama/Georgia border with heavy rain now into Randolph and southern Cleburne Counties. More storms are skimming the border adjacent to Cherokee County. There are some storms in DeKalb County as well, but they are not strong.
Flooding was reported earlier this afternoon in and around Millbrook in Elmore County. The flooding occurrred just before 3:30 p.m.
Otherwise, things have calmed considerably across Alabama.
Our upper low is on the move. it is approaching Columbus MS from the west and will move into Northwest Alabama. It should weaken as it travels east and eventually northeast.
