Talladega County Cell Mergers

| May 30, 2010 @ 4:02 pm | 1 Reply

Very heavy rain is falling over Talladega County thanks to several thunderstorm cells tat are colliding together. When this heppens, you see a big flare up of precipitation over a concentrated area. Heavy rain will be falling shortly in the city of Talladega. This activity will push northward toward Lincoln.

A strong storm over Chilton county will push up into southern Shelby County over the next 30 minutes.

Storms have grown along the Walker/Jefferson county line northwest of Birmingham.

That big arc of storms is bubbling northward from Hale, Bibb and Chilton Counties, curving southeastward through Elmore, Macon and Bullock counties. It has weakened but is pushing an outflow boundary to the north that will serve to intensify storms in its path.

JB will be watching the blog for an hour and a half or so. I will check back with you after that.
