Strong Storms Over Cullman, Blount, St. Clair
A northward moving line of thunderstorms is bringing heavy rain, lightning and some hail to the above mentioned counties.
Dime sized hail was reported 4 miles north of Pell City along US-431 at 12:24 p.m. This same cell is approaching I-59 west of Ashville at this time.
A new strong storm is in the Pell City now.
Showers and storms will continue moving north. Additional storms will form this afternoon. And we will be tracking an area of rain and storms over South Alabama as it moves northward.
Storms were growing just north of Montgomery in the Wetumpka area. These storms will move toward Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties over the next couple of hours.
Severe weather does not look like it will be a problem, but the heavier storms will dump very heavy rain in a short period, produce lots of lightning, some small hail and winds gusting to 40 mph.
