TONIGHT: Showers and storms will end this evening, and the sky becomes mostly clear statewide. You might see some fog late tonight, but no more storms after sunset.

THE WEEKEND: Expect the warmest weather so far this year. Both the NAM and the GFS are printing 91 for Birmingham tomorrow, followed by 93/94 on Sunday. The soil moisture is excellent now, which might keep temperatures a degree or two below those levels, but you will know June is just around the corner. The weekend should be mostly dry; any afternoon showers that form should be very isolated, and we won’t mention it in the forecast. The sky will be partly to mostly sunny both days.

NEXT WEEK: Monday looks hot and dry with a high in the low 90s; the GFS hints at some increase in moisture Tuesday and Wednesday with a risk of scattered showers and highs back in the 80s. But the ridge rebuilds with dry and very warm weather likely Thursday and Friday.
