Intense storms

An area of strong storms is moving through central Alabama now, and will move across the BHM area during the next hour. These storms have produced wind damage (including trees down) in Tuscaloosa, and rainfall amounts around 2″ in an hour or so. They are also producing lightning, even out ahead of the main rain area. These storms will continue for a while even though the sun is going down soon, as the air is unstable. Most places will get 0.5″ of rain or more, with some spots getting over 3″, so flooding could be a problem.
